About Us

Stories That Move. Voices That Matter.

INDEPENDENT DISTRIBUTION

Trial X Fire is an Atlanta-based independent distribution company delivering Black cinema and multicultural storytelling to global audiences across streaming, broadcast, and retail platforms.

We were built on a simple conviction: too many powerful stories never reach the audiences they were made for. We exist to change that.

As an independent distribution company rooted in Atlanta and reaching across North America and international markets, we specialize in films, series, stand-up comedy, and original programming that reflect the depth, humor, resilience, and brilliance of the Black experience — told without compromise, distributed without limits.

We partner directly with independent filmmakers, production houses, and content creators to place their work on the world’s largest streaming platforms, retail outlets, and broadcast networks. From acquisition to delivery, we handle the business so creators can focus on the craft.

FOUNDER

Trae Dungy

FOUNDER & HEAD OF ACQUISITIONS

Trae Dungy founded Trial X Fire with a filmmaker’s eye and a distributor’s instinct. A product of Atlanta’s creative culture and the independent film circuit, he understood early that the gap between a finished film and a seen film was where most careers stalled — and where the most important work needed to happen.

With over a decade in content acquisition, platform strategy, and catalog management, Trae has built a distribution operation that moves at the speed of modern streaming while maintaining the hands-on relationships that independent creators deserve. He has placed titles across major FAST and SVOD platforms, negotiated directly with platform partners, and developed a catalog that consistently reflects the global Black experience in all its complexity.

“There are films that get made that never get seen. That’s not a production problem — that’s a distribution problem. We solve it.”

Recognized by Heart & Soul Magazine as a creative powerhouse in independent entertainment, Trae brings a rare combination of creative sensibility and operational discipline to every title in the catalog. He is also the author of Guerilla Film Making Tactics, a guide born from the front lines of independent production.

We’re always reviewing new titles. If your film or series is ready for distribution, let’s talk.
